Bianca Lurvink

Location

Rotterdam (NL)

As an all-rounder, Bianca can be subdivided into an interactive performance designer, designer, dramaturge, audience director and experience maker. In her work, Bianca is looking for the elusive, the amazing, that split second, which the audience experiences through a performance, installation or experience. With her work as an interactive performance designer she also knows how to connect new performance technology in an experience for the audience as well for performers.

Bianca Lurvink is an alumnus of the Master Interactive Performance Design and scenographer on the Enter New Babylon project. She teams up with scenographer Morgan Henry and spoken word artists and writers Jasper Albinus and Roziena Salihu.

Besides her interest in new technologies, Bianca likes to work with her hands, to work with ‘analog’ material and to learn new crafts. She uses this knowledge and the results of these experiments in production and research processes as well as in the final work.

Bianca uses The Achterhoekse ‘Gas d’r op’ (Throttle up!) and Rotterdamse ‘Niet lullen maar poetsen’ (Don’t talk, just do it!) mentalities as ways of working in her workflow. In addition to doing her own research and creating her own work, she also collaborates with other organizations and artists as an interaction designer, dramaturge and audience director for both physical productions and online events.
