Location
Genre
Parham Rahimzadeh was born in 1990 in the desert of Ahwaz, Iran, grew up in the concrete jungle of Schiedam and Rotterdam and was stranded in Amsterdam because of love. He was a baby asylum seeker, street kid, entrepreneur, student and tax laywer, but with his book “Arab” he turns out to be the master storyteller he always wanted to be. Parham repsonds to Constant’s painting L’insurrection/De opstand in the video-serie Constantly at War by Gerrit Schreurs commissioned by Stedelijk Museum Schiedam.

Description
Parham on Constant
I like the chaos in his work. It reminds me of the dismantling of current systems, it reeks of anarchy. It brings out the rebel in me that would like to see the world burn for no reason at all. And at the same time his work is structured like every other natural phenomenon in nature. I think the ultimate form an artist can strive form (doesn’t matter what kind of art you make) is the feeling of total freedom. And that feeling is precisely what his work gives me.
