New Babylon in 3D?!

Last week a promising experiment started that the foundation and Kunstmuseum Den Haag are both very excited about. Dennis Molema, master at Frank Mohr Institute has started to make a 3D film of the construction Grote Gele Sector, 1967. For two days he and his partner Lotte Dijkstra worked in the photo lab of Alice de Groot at the Kunstmuseum to create the first scans.

Needless to say that if he succeeds Constant’s wish of having people walk through New Babylon will be a step closer. In 2005 Constant’s son and film maker, Victor Nieuwenhuys, created a film that took the audience in flight over the New Babylon models and constructions while creating a futuristic soundscape. With the technologies we have access to today it will be possible to take the New Babylon experience to the next level.
