Gatekeepers permanently on display in front of Framer Framed

Amsterdam Oost has added two works of art in public space in the past month. Commissioned by Framer Framed, artist Monika Dahlberg made two sculptures that have been given a permanent place at the entrance of the building. The sculptures Matumini (Hope) and Uhuru (Freedom) are part of Dahlberg’s long-running art project Gatekeepers.  —  Wietse Schmidt (translated)

Dahlberg created the two sculptures as part of the Constant 101 project, inspired by Constant’s Manifesto written in 1948. The festive reveal of the sculptures took place on 29 September 2022.
