Floris Alkemade receives Grote Maaskant Award 2022
From the website of Rotterdam Maaskant: The Grote Maaskant Prize 2022 will be awarded to architect Floris Alkemade, former government architect, former partner of the office O.M.A and founder of the architectural office FAA. The jury calls Alkemade a ‘spiritual guide’ who stimulates social engagement among his colleagues and who brings the architectural community back into contact with society. As government architect, he put spatial planning and design back on the national agenda. According to the jury, Alkemade operates in surprising and broad coalitions and knows how to involve a large audience in the debate about the design of the Netherlands.
Fondation Constant congratulates Floris Alkemade with this achievement. Alkemade has been a member of the Super Visory Board of the foundation since January 2022.
On Friday 11 November, the Grote Maaskant Prize 2022 will be awarded to Floris Alkemade. You are cordially invited to attend this festive gathering in the Burgerzaal of the Rotterdam City Hall. The ceremony starts at 5:30 PM. If you would like to attend the ceremony, you can register via this link.
